First Lady Margaret Kenyatta To launch A Programme For The Youth
First Lady Margaret Kenyatta unveiled a new mentorship programme to encourage youth avoid risky behaviour and substance abuse.
She listed substance abuse, sexual promiscuity, vulgarity, aggression and violence as risky and unmanageable behaviour that distract youth and children from morally upright and ethical lifestyles.
She said that if all youth and children embrace the ideals of the ‘It is cool to say no’ programme, they will reject anything that prematurely steals their innocence, including engaging in subcultures as public nudity and warlike activities.
The mentorship programme is the brainchild of the National Assembly Lady Spouses Association of Kenya, which brings together MPs’ wives, led by Jackie Kiaraho, who is the organisation’s national chairperson.
