Five People Arrested Ferrying  Donkey Meat To Burma Market

Five people have been arrested  at Shauri Moyo area in Nairobi  with 150 kilograms of donkey meat on their way to Burma market.

Police were tipped by a resident who saw donkey hooves when the suspects were off-loading the meat from a vehicle.

Those arrested include Joseph  Shikolwa ,Jame Mwangi Kamanda,Kelvin Kariuki Maina ,David Thuo and  Patrick Kabiru Njenga.

The suspects were arraigned  at Cityhall court before principal magistrate J.O Omburah  where they were charged  and released on 150 thousand cash bail.

‘‘We have charged them with of course several counts one being with slaughtering an Animal in non designated area contrary to regulations 3( 2) and 3 (3) of clause 16 of the meat regulations Act.’’ Prosecutor Muyuka told Ghetto Radio News.

Meanwhile they are expected in court again on 27 October 2019 where the case will be mentioned.
