Five people are currently nursing injuries after a vehicle they were traveling in lost control and overturned in Athi River.
Athi River police boss Sharma Wario said the accident involving a mini-bus occurred after the driver tried to avoid a head-on collision with an on-coming vehicle that was carelessly overtaking.
“It happened that the said mini-bus was being driven from Mombasa general direction heading towards Nairobi and upon reaching the location of the accident the driver was obstructed by an oncoming unknown motor vehicle which was overtaking.” He said
The driver then veered off the road to avoid the head on collision.
“The driver tried to avoid a head-on collision by swerving to the left and in the process lost control and the vehicle overturned,”he added
The victims were rushed to Shalom hospital in Athi River town.
