FKF President Nick Mwendwa has Congratulated Dan Mule for bagging the AFC Leopards Chairman seat in a Club election that was held at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani on Sunday .
Mule emerged winner with 1,160 votes defeating his rival candidate Maurice Amahwa who got 822 votes.Mathews Opwora had pulled out of the race to back Amahwa.
“On behalf of the Kenyan F.A and on my own behalf, I wish to congratulate Mr. Mule for being elected AFC Leopards Chairperson,” said FKF president Nick Mwendwa.
“I also wish to not only congratulate all officials elected to serve in different capacities at the club but also wish them all well in their new roles,” added Mwendwa.
The polls that were run by the Sport Disputes Tribunal saw Felix Shitsama grabbing the Vice Chairman seat.He was polled 1,613 votes while his rival Lawrence Ngecha managed to get 469 votes.
The Organizing Secretary seat was contested by Timothy Lilumbi who bagged 920 whereas Gilbert Selebwa had 914. Noah Wanyama, the father to Tottenham midfielder Victor Mugubi who was third could only get 256 votes.
Oscar Igaida and Ronald Namai went for the Secretary General seat polling 832 and 759 votes respectively.
New Chairman Dan Mule said he would try to take the club to greater heights with the cooperation of the new team.
He said “there is always a scope for improvement and he would work on rebuilding the club.”
However Robert Asembo, the former AFC Leopards vice chairman and Amahwa attempted to stage a protest claiming the election process had not been free and fair and some of their voters had not been allowed to vote.
