The Kenya Premier League decision to have the match between Muhoroni Youth and Chemelil Sugar replayed has been overruled by Kenya Football Federation.
KPL had nullified the match played on May 26,and ordered for a rematch after Chemelil sugar complained that a change in one of the match officials cost them the game.
FKF CEO Robert Muthomi in a letter dated May 31, 2016, overruled KPL’s decision to have the match replayed saying that the move did not prejudice the match in any way.
“Please note that it is the responsibility of the FKF’s Referees appointment committee to appoint match officials for matches in the Kenyan Premier League, The National Super League and the National Division One League,” read Muthomi’s letter in part.
“It follows therefore that it is also their mandate to make changes to this line-ups should it warrant.
“The decision to change the centre referee for the match mentioned above was done in consultation with the referees committee and is therefore procedural.
“This then means that the results of the match will stand and it shall not be replayed,” explained the CEO in the letter.
