FKF relegates two teams for skipping matches
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Tuesday relegated two teams for failing to honour their matches.
Division one sides Vihiga All Stars and Eastleigh Youth sides have been relegated to division two for handing out three walkovers in the same season.
“It is true we have suspended and relegated, Vihiga and Eastleigh for handing out three walkovers in as season,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.
“The move is in accordance with rule 2.4, which states that a club which fails to honour three league matches in the same season without providing written explanations acceptable to the committee will be suspended for the rest of the season, relegated to a lower league for the next season and may face other disciplinary action,” explained Muthomi.
Vihiga youth failed to honour their matches against Isibania FC, Timsales FC and Silibwet, while Eastlegh handed walk overs to Magarini Stars FC, Galana High School and Stima Club.
