Floods Death Toll Hits 132


So far 132 lives have been lost following the heavy rains and floods that have rocked the country.

West Pokot County is leading in number of deaths with 43 lives in the mudslide that happened more than a week ago.

Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna says that the have managed to recover 36 bodies in the Pokot tragedy while seven other bodies are yet to be found.

Acording to Oguna 11,000 livestock died due to the ongoing floods while 17,000 people have been displaced.

Oguna added that, the rains will continue up to the end of December.

He has advised those leaving in risk areas like Lake Victoria, Tana River, Murang’a, Elgeyo Marakwet and coastal regions to move saver places.
