A football team in Kibra is mourning the death of their fan who lost his life immediately after they won a local tournament.

Ahmed Abdul Suleiman Omar is said to have been trampled over by a lorry that overturned for being overloaded by fans who were loosely hanging on it.

Omar reportedly died on the spot.

Gogo FC yesterday beat Ping FC from Dagoretti 2-1 to clinch the Kriss Darling Super Cup.

He was among thousands of fans who attended the match that was staged at the Woodley Grounds in Kibra.

According to an eye witness the lorry lost control because of the large number of fans who had boarded the Lorry and the deceased was among those hanging on it.
