Football Fans set for Week Long Football Fest

Kenyans are set for a week long football bonanza that promises to thrill local football lovers.

Dubbed Sunday2Sunday, the football fest will see the finals of the Top Eight, GOtv Shield and Mashemeji Derby all played in one week.

The match between Gor Mahia and Muhoroni Youth will be the first of the games being the final game of the Top 8 final. The two clubs meet on Sunday October 16, 2016 at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.

On October 20, 2016, Tusker will face off with Ulinzi Stars in the GOtv Shield final while the Mashemeji Derby pitting Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will complete the week long football extravaganza on October 23, 2016.

“Football fans should brace themselves for an epic football week. The forthcoming exciting matches will all be live on SuperSport and will be broadcast in full HD on SuperSport 9 and 9 East. We have pulled out all the stops to put together a world class production with ten cameras and goalcams that will ensure all round coverage of the games. At SuperSport, we are proud to support our local teams by giving them a platform to showcase their talent while entertaining fans across the country,” said Auka Gecheo, General Manager SuperSport East Africa.

A live studio setup will be set up at the venue of the three games to bring fans an engaging hour long build up as analysts trace back the road to the finals and provide expert opinion and analysis on teams at hand.

Celebrated former international start including Anthony Kimani, Musa Otieno, Simeon Mulama as well as former AFC Leopards coach Gilbert Selebwa will provide extensive analysis.

Bernard Otieno and former national team coach Jacob Ghost Mulee will be in English commentary while veterans Ali Salim Mmanga and Jack Oyoo Sylvester will relay in Swahili.

As is tradition, GOtv Shield will be done in Swahili with Rashid Abdalla anchoring an hour long build up in the national language while Ali Hassan Kauleni will provide colour and coaches interviews pitchside.

Man of the match in each of the games will get a GOtv decoder while fans will get a chance to win an assortment of merchandise through activations that will take place online, on magazine shows on SuperSport as well as at the venue before, during and after the games.
