A 17 year old boy was over the weekend beaten to death by a mob over robbery.
The boy who was set to sit for his form four exams was beaten to death after snatching a phone from a woman.
According to Eastleigh Residents Community Association Secretary David Odhiambo the deceased snatched the phone and on his attempt to escape he was who accosted by residents who reigned on him with stones.
“We thought he was still alive but when he was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital he passed on,” Odhiambo told Ghetto Radio News.
“He was loved by the community nobody knew he was engaging in mugging and robbery I can assure you everyone is shocked,” he added.
National Police Service pledged to deploy more patrol officers in Nairobi following a public outcry over a spike in muggings and theft by bodaboda riders.
Nairobi Regional Commander Augustine Nthumbi says the officers will include GSU, regular police and plainclothes officers.
“Do not be scared if you come across many officers in uniform and plain clothes. They are deployed to protect you from muggers, robbers and other petty criminals that you have been complaining about on social media,” Nthumbi said.
