A former Nairobi County, County Executive Committee member is on the spot for physically assaulting and injuring a businesswoman.

The woman who was the CEC in charge of Devolution at the Nairobi County in the previous regime allegedly hit Beth Njeri a bar owner in Athi River inflicting injuries on her head.

Njeri says that the bar has confiscated the woman’s son’s phone after he failed to clear an alcohol bill of Ksh. 1,000.

“She came to our business premise saying that we had stolen her son’s phone. But in the real sense, her son had come here, took beer and was unable to pay the bill. So we confiscated the phone and until such a time that he (the son) would be able to pay the bill,” said Njeri.

In her defense, the woman claims that her son had reported to her that her phone at been stolen from the bar.

A CCTV footage obtained from the premise shows Kangogo entering the bar premises, shoving her son aside before going into the office of the Ms. Njeri.

Njeri’s then tries to talks to her but then the former CEC then pulls her to the door, grabs a stick from the corner of the office and hits her on the head.

Security personnel then separates the two but the woman then pulls back and engages in another verbal altercation with one of the security personnel.

Cry for justice

The matter has already been reported Sabaki Police Post and justice is yet to be done one week later.

Athi River Sub County Commander says that he is currently in receipt of the matter but investigations are currently ongoing.

“I want justice to take place because what the woman did was wrong,” says Njeri.

Meanwhile she is yet to be arrested neither has she recorded any statement with the police over the incident.
