Former Soccer Star Joseph Shikokoti Appeals For Help To Get A Job

Former Kenyan International football star Joseph Shikokoti is appealing for help to get a coaching job after an injury dealt a blow to his football career.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News Team,The lanky center back who turned up for Tusker F.C, A.F.C Leopards, Ushuru, Stima,the national team Harambee Stars and Tanzania’s Yanga said he’s unattached at the moment due to picking up an injury and the effects of the Covid pandemic.

Failed Business Venture

He opened up on his failed hotel business which was being run by his wife.

The stringent Covid pandemic rules such as social distancing and curfew dealt a huge blow to his business leading to closure.

Mara ya kwanza nilikuwa nimefungua biz pale mtaani nilikuwa nimefungulia mamaa joh ata baze ya kahoteli lakini ikakuja ikafail kidogo sababu ya hizo ma curfew hours na whatever, sa sales zikaenda chini na ika end up tunaworkia tu kulipa rent ya stall sa ikakua wacha tuclose down kidogo alafu tuangalie what next, “he revealed.

Working As A Parking Attendant

As things were getting out of control and with bills to pay, he had to get out and support his young family in whichever way possible.

He took up a job as a parking attendant at a popular entertainment spot along Riverside in Kileleshwa.

Shikokoti looks forward to his return on the pitch, this time round not as a player but as a coach to impart his vast experience and knowledge since he has a coaching certificate on the way.

He is also open to any job opportunity that might come his way, be it being a driver as he holds a valid driver’s license.

“Life ni hard na bado pia ni life ya kusaidiana unajua sa naeza sema mtu yeyote anaeza kuwa na help yoyote ama ata works naeza fanya kwa sababu kama saa hii nafanya hii na naskuma hii kazi ya Car Parking apa, naeza fanya kazi yoyote ile inaeza come through, mi pia joh nimepiga driving “he further added.
