Former Ushuru goal keeper Peter Mageto is in search of new a club
after his contract with the club ended last season.

Mageto who has earned the nickname Ospina among his fans for
having similar tactics to former Arsenal goal keeper David Ospina is
on a free agent basis after his contract came to an end.

The keeper says he had a great experience at Ushuru as it enabled
him scale to higher heights in his career.

“The 2 seasons I was at NSL side Ushuru FC were among the best
experiences in my career but after my contract came to an end I
decided to go my way as a free agent to get a new challenge in my
career.” says Mageto

Previously Mageto had spells with newly promoted Kenyan Premier
League side Wazito FC and Kangemi FC before joining Ushuru.

The 24-year-old goal keeper says his target is to be signed by a club
before the season starts to enable him to fight for the first choice
goalkeeper early and also to continue scaling higher levels.

The former Ushuru goal keeper earned admiration from fans during
the ongoing 41 st edition of the Koth Biro off-season where he
featured for Nyoi FC making crucial saves in most of their games
enabling the team to get to the quarter final stages.

Mageto says the work of a goalkeeper is always easier when there is
a good defence around him and when the keeper has confidence in
his abilities

“The work of a goal keeper is not easy as it may seem at times
because you have the role of an on field coach during the game and

also you need to have good instincts because at times a one on one
situation may arise requiring you to react.” Added Mageto

He has also expressed gratitude to his fans for their continued
support during matches which pushes him to work hard in every
match not to disappoint them.
