Former Vice President Moody Awori’s daughter Marya Elizabeth Adjibodou is dead.

Adjibodou passed away on the evening of Tuesday, June  6, 2023.

Speaker Amason Kingi announced her demise, on his Instagram page

‘’The Passing of our Colleague  Mrs,Mary  Elizabeth  Adjibodou, has left the entire parliament of the Republic of kenya and the senate in particular,  in shock and deep sorrow Until her sudden demise in the evening of Tuesday,June 6th 2023, Marya was principal clerk assistant 1 in the directorate of legislative and procedural services at the senate, having served previously as a clerk assistant in the national assembly.The late Marya has been an exceptional parliamentary officer who personified commitment and diligence in service. On behalf of all senators and staff of the senate ,I condole with Maryas family and friends and pray for fortitude upon them at this most painful moment.  May Marya’s soul rest in perfect peace.

She held a Master of Science degree in community economic development and a bachelor of science degree in Marketing from New Hampshire College in Manchester.

Moses Wetangula  wrote   ‘’I am deeply saddened to learn of the sudden demise of one of our staff Mrs. Marya Elizabeth Adjibodou. Until her demise, the late Maria was a Principal Clerk Assistant, serving in the Directorate of Legislative and Procedural Services in the Senate. She was also the daughter of the former Vice President, H.E. Arthur Moody Awori. She served the institution of Parliament with a deep sense of commitment, zeal and patriotism for 18 years. We will miss her great depth of knowledge, positive orientation, sharp-wittedness and resilience. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends and Bunge fraternity.
