Four People Killed In Kibra Floods

Four people have died in Kibra following heavy rains that rocked Nairobi last night.

The four were reportedly swept away by floods after in Lindi area after water flooded their homes.

According to officer in charge of disaster management Kibra Humphrey Lando, they are still searching for one more person who was on a motorbike with the other two who died.

Lando has appealed to Kibra residents living next to the river to quickly move to safer grounds.

The weatherman says the heavy rains are expected to continue until next week.

“We have lost four people and our officers have tightened the search for one more person by the name Philip Odongo who was with two other people on a motorbike,” he said.

Several other parts of the city experienced floods following the rains that pounced the city overnight.

Personal cars were marooned in water while some city eateries also experienced floods.
