A sales lady has been charged before Nairobi court for allegedly stealing coffins from a funeral services company.
Maureen Khikani is said to have stolen two coffins valued at Sh90,000 and 26 coffin handles valued at Sh117,000 by the virtue of employment.
According to the prosecution, Khikani committed the offence on dates between May 12, 2022, and May 7, 2023, at St Augustine Funeral Services at Kenyatta Market.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi at Milimani Law Courts, the accused lady denied the charges and pleaded with the court for lenient bond terms.

A defence lawyer representing Moureen applied for her release on reasonable bail terms.
“The accused is a single mother and her child relies on her for upkeep,” the lawyer stated, adding, “free her on reasonable bail terms.” said the defence lawyer
She was released on a bond of Sh200,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.
The case will be mentioned on September 1.
