Anxiety gripped Safaricom subscibers on Monday morning after the company experinced a technical hitch.
Safaricom users countrywide were unable to neither make calls or use Safaricom Data bundles.
This in turn affected countrywide service with many Kenyans taking their frustrations on the social media.
Senator Mutula Kilonzo tweeted, “Safaricom network has gone on safari from 8 am.”
“May we receive ksh.100 Safaricom airtime for inconveniences,” wrote @Wicky_Mash.
Safaricom has since apologised for the disruption saying they had a hitch on their core GSM server.
“Our apologies. We are having an issue affecting our network, apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
“We are working on it,” Safaricom said through their official twitter page.
