The young protesters alias Gen Zs have now vowed to continue with protest until all their demands will be met by the government.

Under hashtags  #OccupyCBD they intend to parade and match in the Nairobi Central Business District among other major towns across the 47 counties.

“If they think we are backing down soon then they are misguided we shall not relent until they heed to our demands.Our irreducible minimum is well spelt out on X and other platforms like IG and Tik tok.Go there and smell our demands after doing so implement them.” Max Kijabi said.

“Tumekua tukinyamaza mkatuchukulia vibaya ni kama hatuna brain he war on bad governance itaendelea until mtajua vijana saa hii wako gangari kukabiliana na nyinyi we can’t have a rogue government with indiscipline officers who are out there to kill us. Peaceful protest is enshrined in the Constitution and any government that is taking away that little provision from us must be condemned.’’ Another Genz said.

The Gen z Demand  from the Government

In message across their social media platforms they demand the following from President Ruto led administration.

 

  • Fire corrupt Cabinet Secretaries (CSs).

 

  • Change the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leadership in parliament.

 

  • Conduct a lifestyle audit for flashy state officers.

 

  • Create more opportunities for the youth.

 

  • Decline to recreate the positions of Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs).

 

  • Reduce wastage in government, including travel.

 

  • Review salaries for Members of Parliament (MPs).

 

  • Abolish funding to First Lady Rachel Ruto and Second Lady Dorcas Gachagua.

 

  • Abolish the housing levy.

 

In recent interview at state house Ruto revealed that  his government has withdrawn all the budgets allocated to  first, second lady in a move to reduce government extravagance and spending.
