Women Rights activists have now raised concerns over what they are terming as neglect of women and children living with disability.
According to Catherine Omanyo most of them cannot afford sanitary towels something that has not been in the picture especially this time of Covid 19.
He faults the government for not reaching out to them despite the creation of gender offices catering for the same.
“They have the register of children and women living with disability but facilitating search programs becomes difficult. We have so many reports especially from slum people living with disability lacking sanitary pads and support from the government. This must just stop,” She said.
Same were echoed by Eve Okumu who says most of the disable children who suffer are those who depended on donations from the ministry of education.
“There are those who used to get sanitary pads from education ministry but because of Corona they are at home and the parents can’t afford to feed them as well as buying sanitary pads,” she added.
