A Ghanaian national identified as Patrick Amenuvor embarked on a “Stand-a-thon” to break the Guinness World Record for longest standing by an individual.

The man kicked off the attempt on the 14th of January with an initial plan  to stand till the 21st of January to break the record for longest standing by an individual.

A video that surfaced on social media shows fans gathered around to watch him make history.

However, Patrick stated in the statement that he had broken the regulations and declared the end of the standathon attempt, without specifying which rules he had broken.

“Due to my integrity and Desiree to win by fair play I wish to inform all of my intention to stop my official STAND-A-THON attempt due to some rules I’ve broken which might sabotage my efforts to break the record.

“At this point I deem it fit to to get back with my team to review the attempt so far and make sure to avoid any errors that may hinder my future attempt.

”I want to use this opportunity to thank all who have stood with me all this while and I want to assure all that may Patrick Amenuvor STAND-A-THON is a dream that I’m not sleeping on. New date will be communicated via all my social media pages. thanks you Ghana for the support— his statement reads.

Concluding his message, he thanked all his supporters and Ghanaians for rallying behind him, adding that the attempt is a dream he is passionate about fulfilling.
