Ghetto Radio crew on Sunday March 21st launched a robust campaign to sensitize Nairobi residents on the deadly coronavirus.
The campaign dubbed #ChezaClean is being conducted in partnership with Parrot Events will see a crew of Ghetto Radio team participate in a seven day road show has the team traverse the whole of Nairobi via a truck.
From the East of Nairobi’s Kayole to the West side of Nairobi in Kawangware slums the campaign is sensitizing residents on COVID-19.
The road show is being conducted in observance of all the rules and regulations required to stop the spread of COVID-19.
One of them is not having any stop overs so as not to attract any crowds. The truck also has only two emcees who are observing the social distance as a measure given to curb the spread of the virus.
And so armed with microphones speakers and great music, the emcees are explaining to the masses what COVID-19 is, its symptoms, how it is spread and how it can be prevented.
“We are also teaching them how to effectively wash their hands with soap and also give them free pieces of soap. We are very optimistic that the campaign is going to bear fruits because if Ghetto Radio does not reach out to them, who will?” quipped Julius Owino, Ghetto Radio boss.
As it has always been the norm of all Ghetto Radio the campaign is going on in all the Ghetto Radio digital platforms, on air and on ground.
Kenya confirmed its first case of coronavirus in March 13, the patient being a lady who traveled from the US.
