Traders in Nairobi’s Gikomba market are counting losses after another fire gutted the market today morning.

The fire started early morning burnt down the wood and and furniture section of Gikomba.

Devastated owners of the burning stalls desperately attempted to put out the fire in a bid to stop it from spreading.

Fire engines from Nairobi County also rushed to the scene to help put out the fire.

“We want the government to put a stop to this fire menace. Gikomba cannot be burning every month. How do they want us to survive/” posed a trader.

The Gikomba fire has come just a fortnight after Nyayo Market traders lost their goods to fire that burnt down the whole market.
