After the county government of Nairobi built markets for traders in different areas the traders have come out to demand for proper leadership of the markets through elections.
At Gikomba market the traders have raised concern that since 2012 there has never been any elections even though their constitution date that elections should be held after every four years.
The traders who are designated to occupy the second phase of the market have raised complains that the current leadership been receiving money to sell stalls to people from different places leaving out the traders who have been working in the market for over decades.
County Government Plea

According to Solomon Onditi the county government has not been receiving the right amount of money expected from the market as the current leadership. Had been full of corruption. The traders say that the only thing that can solve the leadership wrangles in the market is a free and fair election.
