Githurai All Stars Peacefully Thrash Ziwani Combined 4-1

Githurai All Stars on Sunday humbled Ziwani All Stars 4-1 in a friendly match played at the Githurai Stadium.

The tournament which was organized by the Githurai and Ziwani teams and supported by Ghetto Radio’s Offside team was played at a packed venue bringing together leaders and fans from all walks of life.

According to the organizers their aim was to bring different tribes together through the tournament and also preach peace.

“The turnout was amazing, we could not believe it. I just hope that we achieved the biggest aim of the tournament which was to unite all Kenyans from different tribes and different walks of life,” said Fredrick Ochieng, one of the organizers.


The match which played at the packed Githurai field saw GAS leading in the first half by 3-1 goals.

Patrick Lugo, Wilson Njuguna Brace and Mose scored for Githurai while Marcelo pulled one for the visitors.

The match was graced by Ziwani MCA Millicent Mugadi and Starehe Constituency Member of Parliament Aspirant Amos Wango who awarded cash incentives to the Ziwani team.

The return leg will be played on Sunday 14th in the evening at the Ziwani Grounds.
