As the curtains to the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’ Ivoire come to a close on Sunday, a casual labourer in Githurai 44, Nairobi will be celebrating with a million shillings in his account.
Alex Mbuthi, a casual labourer in the construction sites of Githurai took a chance and placed several bets, some including the AFCON games and luckily got all of them right.
“I placed a stake of Sh 20 on several betting platforms but it is on BetNare that I got all the eleven games right in their jackpot,” Mbuthi said as he was presented the cheque in Nairobi on Friday.
For a man who earns less that Sh 500 per day, this is a windfall for Mbuthi who says he will use the money to start a business for his mother and himself.
BetNare says they will guide Mbuthi on how to invest the money.
