Gladys Wanga and Lee Kinyanjui are leading in Homabay and Nakuru gubernatorial races respectively.
This is according to a poll conducted by Consortium of Researchers on Governance CORG- Africa.
In Homabay, the survey indicates that Wanga is leading with 57.9 percent followed by Kidero with distant 38.3 percent.
In Nakuru Lee Kinyanjui tops with 39 per cent while Susan Kihika is second with 37 percent.
CORG team leader Charles Mc’Olonde says that the survey revolved around integrity of the aspirants, party/coalition affiliation, running mate impact and manifesto of the candidates.
Most of the people in the county said that Wanga stands a better chance compared to Kidero, some based their vote on party affiliation and gender balance so in Homabay the voters are looking at their manifesto,Gender but not much on integritry.,” CoRG Director Mc’Olonde told the media.
In Embu Lenny Kivuti is ahead with 41 percent and is being trailed by Cecily Mbarire who has 32 percent.
‘‘CoRG AFRICA conducted a gender-oriented survey between 16th to 23rd May 2022 on the key parameters and approval of respective women gubernatorial aspirants in Nakuru, Homabay, Embu and Kilifi Counties. The survey evaluated the following parameters: Integrity, Gender mainstreaming, County political dynamics, coalition / party ticket running mate impact ,Manifesto / Campaign strategies,’’ said Mc’Olonde.
