Kenya Premier League Giants AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia have a reason to smile after the two teams signed a three year deal with Europe-based betting firm, Betsafe.
The teams have been struggling financially since their sponsor SportPesa withdrew their sponsorship in August 2019 following a prolonged tax dispute with the government.
In a statement to the media on Thursday, Gor Chairman Ambrose Rachier thanked the firm for coming in to support the team saying that they are happy to secure a long term financial partner.
‘We are very happy to announce this deal with Betsafe.
A message welcomed by all our fans knowing that we have secured long term financial support from a strong and safe partner.
With Betsafe, we get engaged and reliable with a focus on responsible gaming.
But also, a partner who shares our passions and values about football and the passion that comes with it,” says Rachier.
Echoing his sentiments Bethigh Limited PR and Partner Manager Tom Bwana said that the company is proud of the two great clubs.
“Since we live and breathe sport, we are very proud and humble to support two top clubs in Kenya.
With the largest fans bases in the country, this partnership provides Betsafe with perfect platform to engage football fans with our unique offering,’ he concluded.
