It was business as usual when Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia beat their arch rivals Afc Leopards 1-0 in the Mashemeji Derby played at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani on Sunday.

Kogalo have always enjoyed a good run against their bitter rivals, having won the last five league matches with Leopards last win against them coming in 2016.

Boniface Omondi’s goal in the 27th minute is all Kogalo needed to complete a double over their rivals in a match graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga and his ANC counterpart, Musalia Mudavadi.

The lone goal solidifies Gor Mahia’s lead at the top of the table having won the first leg 4-1.

The victory stretches Gor’s lead at the top of the table to 54 points from 23 games, while AFC Leopards is sixth with 40 points.
