Five games later, it is Gor Mahia fc and Mathare United that occupy the summit of the Kenya Premier League log.

Last Saturday, Gor ensured a top league spot and ended Bandari’s unbeaten run after winning 2-0, at home.

In the thrilling match, Gor was the stronger opponent, with the likes of Meddie Kagere and George Odhiambo, confining the Dockers to their own half.

Gor missed clear cut chances to get ahead, including a free kick in the half hour stroke, that was put out by Bandari Captain, Felly Mulumba.

A few minutes to half time, Badari’s luck ran out when their skipper put the ball into his own net. It was a well calculated move from Wesley Onguso.

Dylan Kerr’s men have also replicated their fine form in the continental stage. They thrashed Leones Vegetarianos, 3-1 on aggregate, to proceed to the first round of CAF Champions League. They will face ES Tunis on Wednesday this week.

Despite their incredible round of form, Kerr has urged the Kenya Premier League to spread out their fixtures to curb fatigue. He said that since they were representing Kenya, KPL should be more flexible so that they do not suffer on both ends.

Mathare on the other hand suffered a 1-1 draw in Thika yesterday. In the hot encounter, Thika were seemingly the better team, having most of possession and pining Mathare to their own half.

Thika took the lead through Shami Kibwana, when he slotted in a spot kick in the 9th minute. Thika’s dominance continued well into the second half.
