Governor Sakaja’s Swearing In To Take Place At KICC Tomorrow

All is set for the swearing in of Nairobi Governor elect Johnson Sakaja.

The event will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on Thursday.

According to the Assumption of the office of Governor Act 2019, all Governors shall be sworn in 10 days after being declared winners.

The Assumption of office of Governor Committee Chairman Jairus Musumba says the preparations are in top gear to give Sakaja a colourful ceremony tomorrow.

Outgoing governor Ann Kananu says she is ready to hand over power to Sakaja smoothly as he takes the mantle to steer the county forward.

“I will hand over Nairobi County to Johnson Sakaja the Governor-elect when he’s sworn in. My team and his team are working to ensure there’s a smooth transition of power I will hand over Nairobi County to Sakaja Johnson, the Governor-elect when he’s sworn in, my team and his team are working to ensure there’s a smooth transition of power,” Kananu added.

Sakaja has pledged to deliver on his manifesto diligently and he will not be swayed by his political inclination when delivering.

“The campaign period has concluded and I am now the governor for Nairobi. My work is to serve all and build a team that serves our people. We made commitments and we must deliver on them, I committed to setting up a kitty of Sh50 million for each ward. I promise you once I am sworn in, this will be among the first things that my administration will put in place,” Sakaja said.
