Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Friday took Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS) boss Mohammed Badi head on after storming Mbagathi Hospital to launch an out patient facility despite warnings by the Major General.
According to Sonko, NMS will not stop him from launching county projects saying that it is part of his mandate as the elected governor of Nairobi.
He says he is not in competition with NMS and that Major General Badi should focus on service delivery not humiliating him.
‘‘The constitution has given me power to continue discharging my duties even of the transferred functions but i will do that with NMS..we are not in a competition but Badi should stop intimidating me with the military. I was elected by the people and am still the governor of Nairobi.’’ Sonko said.
He further asked Senate to regularize NMS saying all that they are engaging in does not have a lawful backing.
‘‘They are doing so many illegal things. They have taken my official vehicle and locked it at Eastleigh Airbase .. but I shall not allow such to continue. I will fight to the end,’’Sonko added.
The two leaders have been in constant wars following the transfer of deeds that saw Sonko losing four functions to the newly created Nairobi Metropolitan Services .
