Govt Reduces Price Of Unga To Ksh. 100

The government has reduced the price of Unga from the current Ksh. 230 to Ksh. 100.

This follows a subsidy issued by the government for the production of the commodity for a period of four weeks.

In the 4 weeks, the Ministry of Agriculture will pay part of the cost of producing Unga, so as to cushion Kenyans from the effect of rise in the price of the commodity.

As a result, a 2KG packet of Unga will retail at Ksh. 100, a 1 KG packet will retail at Ksh. 52 and the 500 grams packet will retail at Ksh. 30.

The announcement saw the commodity’s price go down by only Ksh. 2.
