Armed GSU officers today morning stormed the County Assembly of Nairobi to quell chaos after a section of MCAs allied to Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko attempted to eject Speaker Beatrice Elachi.
The MCAs who included Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu stormed Elachi’s office in a bid to remove her from office.
During the chaos, Mutheu was heard telling the GSU officers to fire bullets.
“Piga risasi, piga risasi…” Mutheu is heard shouting.
Mutheu and nominated MCA Ann Nthumbi were however bungled away by the officers.
At some point the officers were forced to lobe teargas to the crowd in a bit to save the speaker.
On Sunday, a group of MCAs allied to Governor Mike sonko threatened to impeach Elachi over what they termed as corruption, abuse of office and victimisation.
The county lawmakers had on Sunday collected 51 signatures way above the 42 required for an impeachment notice against the speaker to be filed in the county assembly.
