Singer and actress Habida is set to undergo a vocal surgery in India to remove a cyst forming in her vocal cord. Habida revealed that this was the sole reason she has been missing in action since November.

She further noted that she wasn’t taking pride in her new-found disorder while pointing out that it’s common with speakers, actors and actresses, singers including radio presenters, all those who talk for hours.

“I’m calling on you today because as you can hear my voice is not as usually as it is and I’ll be travelling to India for surgery because I have a condition and apparently it happens to singers, politicians, speakers so am not feeling too special at the moment” she stated partly.

The “My Reason” hit maker further disclosed that the process will take two weeks going up to two months.

Habida narrated that she started having worst fears with her voice when she started having a severe sore throat sometimes around November.

At first she brushed it off but later settled for a test while on a trip in Dubai which turned out positive, That was in January.

Her other test in Nairobi at Aga Khan Hospital confirmed her worst fears.

Now, she has to undergo the surgery or risk depending on her voice for the rest of her life.

Cancels Diary

Habida has since cancelled her diary or let’s say postponed her engagements.

Her supportive husband will fill her shoes during her absence by taking care of their two children.

The diva further thanked her film producers, Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan for being supportive.

Habida’s much anticipated collaboration with Khaligraph is also pending with the action set for a later date.
