Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja says his administration will stand firm and deal with cartels whether politicians or not.
According to the county boss his government has no pilferage and that they have put proper system to ensure county resource are not siphoned.
He took issues with Eastleigh Airbase MCA Fuad Hussein who have been accused of grabbing Eastleigh Health Centre land.
“No amount of threats will scare me..mimi sio mwoga,We have no time for land grabbers. On Thursday I demolished a two-storey house that was being built on grabbed land and ironically by an MCA. The MCA was building his office when the said land was supposed to have a hospital,We will not take that anymore and we are going to be firm because we fear no one including those using them politically. We only fear Nairobians who trusted us with leadership,” he said.
“We have built a system that no one is able to steal anything from you and I don’t fear those cartels ,the system is working and all corruption loopholes have been sealed and county resources are safe.’’ Sakaja said.
Eastleigh Health Center Land
According to the letter to the Kamukunji sub-county Ministry of Health, dated December 28, 2022, Eastleigh Health Center sought intervention following the demolition of old structures at the facility to establish a new building a request that county did not approve.
In a letter dated 4th January 2023,Chief officer Health Facilities through Zadock Angahya wrote to the county secretary requesting for demolition of the same building in Eastleigh Health Centre.
“She reported that an old building structure in the compound of the Eastleigh Health Centre was demolished over the Christmas holiday allegedly by a team led by Eastleigh Airbase MCA.This was to pave way for the construction of a new building at the same site, which started immediately the old structure was demolished. However the area MCAs’ request to construct an office in the health centre had been dismissed by the County Executive Committee member for health. He cited concern over the smooth running of the sensitive SGHGBV Unit that is adjacent to the site. This is therefore to request for your urgent intervention to remove the illegal structure that is under construction.” Zadock Angahya said in a memo.
