Harambee Stars’ Friendlies Will Hold at Machakos Stadium

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed that the friendly match between Harambee stars and Uganda cranes that was scheduled for March 23rd still stands and will be played at Kenyatta stadium in Machakos.
The venue for the tie will be same for the encounter between Kenya and DR Congo to come three days later on 26 March.The venue has been chosen due to current renovations going on at Moi Sports Center Kasarani and Nyayo National stadiums in preparations of hosting CHAN 2018.
The two friendlies are are aligned in preparations of 2019 AFCON qualifiers that start in mid June.Kenya will travelling to Sierra Leone for the tournament’s first leg qualifiers.
According to FKF, the two friendlies are in preparation for the 2019 AFCON qualifiers, that start in mid June with an away trip to Sierra Leone.
However,Kenya last faced the Cranes in an international friendly in August 2016 in Kampala and the game ended with a goalless draw.
The tie with DR Congo will be a huge one for the Harambee Stars side considering the Central African heavyweights made it to the quarterfinal stage of the just concluded African Cup of Nations.
DR Congo last hosted Kenya for a friendly in early October 2016, an encounter that the visitors won 1:0.
