Harambee Stars Coach Stanley Okumbi says the National team is all-out to win the away match of the Africa cup qualifiers against Guinea Bissau.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio,Okumbi denies he is under pressure but admits he needs to step up his game for Harambee Stars to achieve maximum points they need.
“If the Stars were to give positive results in the past then I would have a a big task.Right now,I only need to step up from where the previous Coach left for us to achieve the maximum points we need to qualify.”
“We are not in a good position in terms of qualifying,we need three points. That means we need to get maximum points in each game we play.” Okumbi says.
Stars will fly to Guinea Bissau for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on a chartered flight and depart for Nairobi immediately after the game to prepare for the second leg in Nairobi.
FKF President confirmed the new development, saying they had finalized the preparations with the help of the Sports Ministry for the team to fly on a chartered flight.
“We have made arrangements with the help of the government through the Ministry of Sports to have the team take a chartered flight so that they can arrive on time and depart immediately after the game to prepare for the second leg.”
“As such, the possibility of a chartered flight was proposed by the federation to the Ministry of Sports and Culture, and I am pleased to say that they came through with the required funding to allow us to do this.” Mwendwa added.
“This is a big boost for the team and staff, as it means we can spend more time on the training pitch preparing, and working towards top level performances in both games.”
The team is scheduled to leave on March 21 for Guinea Bissau and will be back in time for the return leg scheduled for March 27 in Nairobi.
Kenya are third in Group E with one point, three behind leaders Congo Brazzaville and Zambia who both have four points. The two sides face each other on the same dates Kenya will be playing Guinea Bissau.
