Harambee Stars clinched a 2-1 win over Qatar in their international friendly played, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Al Janoub Stadium.

The scoring opened up in the 20th minute when Kenneth Muguna delivered a corner kick into the box, finding Joseph Okumu’s head, who skillfully headed it into the net, giving Kenya the lead.

Qatar equalized in the 34th minute when Hassan Al-Haydos converted a penalty.

The 46th minute saw Ayub Timbe replacing Elvis Rupia, injecting fresh energy into the team. In the 70th minute, Amos Nondi came in for Masud Juma.

As the match neared its conclusion, Harambee Stars demonstrated their determination. In the 86th minute, Duke Abuya substituted Kenneth Muguna. In the 91st minute, Captain Olunga orchestrated a brilliant assist to Amos Nondi, who netted the winning goal, securing a 2-1 victory.
