  • COP28 President-Designate Dr Sultan Al Jaber set to make a major declaration

Various Heads of state across Africa continue streaming in at the Kenyatta International conference center for the Africa Climate Summit that is on its second day.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga joined President William Ruto at the Africa Climate Summit.

Raila was received by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who led him to the sitting area.

The opposition leader is expected to speak about urgent action to address climate change and call on African leaders to work together to find solutions.

The Summit started on Monday at Kenyatta International Convention Centre and is set to run up to Friday.

COP28 President-Designate Dr Sultan Al Jaber is also in Nairobi for the summit and is expected to make a major declaration on Tuesday, September 5.

The summit aims to address critical climate issues and set a new agenda for Africa’s sustainable development.

 Heads Of State attending the Africa Climate Summit

Among those who have arrived include; Tanzania president Samia Suluhu , Ethiopia President Sahle-Work Zewde,Ghana President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, Libya leader Mohamed al-Menfi, his Sierra Leone counterpart Julius Maada Wonie Bio.

United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, and the European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are also in attendance.
