Heavy Police Presence Ahead Of CORD Protest
There is heavy police presence at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission offices, ahead of renewed protests by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) against IEBC officials.
A heavy contingent of police officers has been deployed outside the Anniversary Towers where the IEBC offices are housed.
Anti-riot officers are also keeping guard around the area.
The countrywide demonstrations by CORD are seeking to eject the IEBC officials in order to facilitate a re-constituted commission.
CORD Coalition Management Board Co-Chair James Orengo said the demonstrations will take place starting at 10am at the IEBC Headquarters at the Anniversary Towers and all its county offices.
