Heavy Traffic As Fedha Residents Hold Demonstrations

Heavy traffic was today experienced along Outering Road following after section of Fedha residents held demonstrations to protest poor roads.

The residents blocked roads, lit tyres and planted banana stalks on the dilapidated Fedha Road in a bid to bring the situation on the road to the authorities.

Motorists were stuck on Outering Road for hours forcing some to seek alternative routes.

Police were forced to use teargas to disperse some of the protesters.

“We have cried over this road for many months, but nothing has been done. Motorists are charging us excessively, those with private vehicles are spending a tone of their money and time in garages… What do they want us to do? lamented a protester.

They called out Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko for failing to address their issues.

Some protesters also accused area MP Babu Owino of poor leadership and failing to present their concerns to the relevant authorities.

“Babu Owino you are good at uttering abusive words to @kipmurkomen and your people at fedha estate, nyayo, tasia and kwa ndege have shamba in the name of the road,” claimed one of the residents.
