All eyes in the boxing world will be on Saturday night in Las Vegas when Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr square it out to not only crown a unified and undisputed welterweight champion, but also determine the best 147-pounder of this generation.
Former undisputed cruiserweight king and current unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk believes the slight betting favorite Crawford has what it takes to beat Spence when the two meet for the undisputed welterweight title.
“It’s a great fight. I like Terence. He’s a great boxer. I think Terence wins. That’s my opinion,” Usyk told FightHype.
Crawford and Usyk both historically have had the propensity for switching stances in the middle of fights. The Ukrainian also commented on Crawford’s fighting style.
“There are some similar things when Terence switches his stance, but it’s normal. All fighters from all over the world, watch each other’s fights and absorb some positive things,” said Usyk.
Crawford and Spence will finally fight in a matchup that has been years in the making at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and headline a PBC on Showtime pay-per-view event.
Usyk, meanwhile, is looking to land an undisputed fight for himself as well, but negotiations for a clash against WBC champion Tyson Fury continue to drag on.
