Grammy-award winner and Dancehall legend Shaggy has admitted that he turned down an offer to feature in Rihanna’s highly anticipated album.
During a recent interview with UK Daily Star, Shaggy said that the project did not appeal to him so he left the opportunity for younger artistes.
“They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah. There’s a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn’t need to audition to be on the record, I’ll leave that to younger guys. But from what I hear it should be good.” He said
Word is that Rihanna’s team had wanted Shaggy to audition in order to be part of the project something the dancehall star wasn’t happy about.
Rihanna’s album dubbed ‘R9’ by the Rihanna Navy (her fan club) is expected to be premiered earlier this year after a delay in 2019.
The much anticipated album has featured a series of Jamaican singers and writers like Koffee, Demarco and Buju Banton.
