The High Court has dismissed a petition seeking to disqualify the validity of Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja’s degree.
The court ruled today that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission had no error in clearing Sakaja.
The petition to temporarily bar IEBC from including Sakaja’s name on the ballot was filed by Dennis Wahome a citizen.
Wahome wanted the court to bar Sakaja from vying arguing that his degree from Team University was not recognized.
IEBC had cleared Sakaja to vie for the Governor seat of Nairobi saying that its mandate was not to determine the validity of degrees.
Sakaja is now set to face Jubilee’s Polycarp Igathe, Kenneth Nyamwamu of UPA, Nancy Mwadime of Usawa Kwa Wote Party and Herman Grewal of Usawa Kwa Wote Party.
