Umeme Bees have been bundled out of this year’s Kothbiro annual soccer tournament after falling 5-4 on penalty shoot outs to Ruaraka All-stars following a 2-2 in the normal duration time at Ziwani Grounds.
Bees featuring several Kenya Premeir League players led by Afc Leopards Clyde Senaji, Mohamed Kilumi(Sofapaka)Martin Ongori(Mathare Utd),Elvis Osok(Posta Rangers ,&several Ulinzi stars players were unlucky after squandering several chances.
Senaji scored a brace for Umeme during the normal duration time while Tyson Otieno and Alfonce omija replied for Ruaraka side who were led by Austin Odhiambo of Afc Leopards.
In the penalty shootouts, Ruaraka side scored through Austin Odhiambo,Brian Juma,Eric Kipkirui,Ken Ochieng and Ali Omija.
Penalty scorers for Umeme Bees were Mohamed Kilumi, Clyde Senaji,Duncan Mieno’s(Humphrey mieno’s bro) while Evans Otieno missed his chance.
Earlier at the same venue,Githurai All-stars edged out Digo United from Majengo 2-1.The tournament continues tomorrow( tuesday) with two matches.
The tournament is being sponsored by upcoming betting firm, Betmoto.
