A househelp Violet Ndukwe has admitted before Milimani Law Courts to stealing a gold ring worth Sh 683,700 belonging to her Australian employer residing in Runda, Nairobi county.

The house girl has confessed before Rose Ndombi that she stole the ring belonging to her boss Norah Michelle Were and sold it to a shopkeeper Francis Mwema at Kawangware at sh 4,000 to cater for medical bills of her illing Father.

In another count of offences,Ndukwe was charged with handing stolen property.

The wailing househelp has pleaded for mercy, saying she did not know that the ring was valuable to the complainant.

“Forgive  me please, I picked  the ring on floor and took to Kawangware  for sale, I didn’t  know the real value of the ring, I just sold it to save my ailing  father and children.” Ndukwe said.

The Principal Magistrate Roselyne Ndubi directed the pre- sentencing report to be prepared a filed in court for consideration before sentencing.

The prosecution will present four witnesses to testify against the Mwima, the shopkeeper who denied involvement in gold-ring transaction with Ndukwe in Kawangware.

The matter will be mentioned 5th September for sentencing.
