How leaders have mourned former minister Joe Nyaga

President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga have led Kenyans in mourning former Minsiter Joe Nyaga who died today.

Uhuru described as a leader whose many years of public service helped shape Kenya.

Raila Odinga stated that he had received with shock the passing on of his friend Joe Nyaga who he says has been a critical player in the affairs of the nation.

“Joe has been a critical player in the affairs of our nation, straddling the corporate world, government, diplomacy and national politics. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May He Rest In Eternal Peace,” said Raila.

Deputy President William Ruto described Nyaga as a bold and exceptional leader.

“We have lost a selfless, bold, visionary and industrious leader who took exceptional honour in public service. Honourable Joe Nyagah was a vocal, responsive and development-conscious leader,” said Ruto.

Nyaga died today while receiving treatment.

His family says that he died of Covid-19 complications.

Until his death, Nyaga was a member of the ODM Party.
