Gospel singer Papa Dennis was laid to rest last week on Wednesday at his Parents’ home in Matunda, Kakamega county.
Unlike his funeral service held last Monday at Nairobi Chapel, only a handful of celebrities made it to attend the burial ceremony.
Gospel artistes like Daddy Owen, Ringtone Apoko, Gloria Muliro, Mash Mjukuu, the owner of the studio where Papa Dennis spent his last moment and Mr. Seed were however in attendance.
During the burial ceremony, gospel singer Alex Apoko popularly known as Ringtone left tongues wagging after calling out Papa Dennis’ previous management.
According to Ringtone, Sadat Muhindi who skipped Papa Dennis’ funeral, flew business class to Dubai on the day of the burial.
Ringtone went on to say that Sadat had done very little to support his once famous artiste’s send off.
“This issue of promoters using artistes to enrich themselves should come to an end. When the artiste suffers, they are nowhere to be seen. Sadat posted a photo on social media on his way to Dubai. He did not support Papa Dennis’ send off and when we set a meeting to contribute money for Dennis’ send off, he said the hotel where we were was too filthy for him so he left to plan his own funeral committee only toi bring back 6000.” Ringtone said
The controversial singer however revealed that Papa Dennis’ send off was planned and funded by several artistes even from the secular industry.
“Kenyan artistes like Nameless, Otile Brown contributed towards this. This entire program was planned by artistes.” He added
