The government has mobilised chiefs and their assistant to track down people who have not collected their Huduma cards.
This follows an incident where out of 350,000 cards only 60,000 cards have been collected country.
Speaking to Ghetto radio News Desk, Kondele Location Chief Philip Otieno says he has engaged Village elders and other volunteers to assist in tracking down those who have not picked their cards.
Otieno says his office has a total of 400 cards that are yet to be collected.
“The process is ongoing and today we have engaged our CHVs, Village elders to assist us in tracking the people who have not picked their cards,” says Chief Philip.
Only 81 cards have been collected so far from Sunday.
He is urging the general public to visit various chiefs and assistant chief officers to check and pick their Huduma cards.
“Here we have around 400 cards, we identify the owner and send the village elders to the owners. We also have a list of those from Kisumu Central subcounty. I am also working on my list and soon I will post it here for people to check. I hope by Friday we will have distributed all cards. I am appealing to the general public to come chief’s office and pick their cards,” he added
He says Covid -19 transpired to the delay of cards collection as people were not allowed to gather.
