The Annual Huruma Ramadhan Cup Football Tournament is currently ongoing at the Huruma Grounds.
Twenty eight teams are participating in the tournament held every year during Ramadhan.
According to the coordinator Arafat Adam the tournament is meant for Muslims who come together for fasting and prayers to avoid drifting to other things.
“We came together to create this tournament during this time of fasting as Muslims whilst simply enjoying the game of football and a chance of winning a prize, he said.
“This is also an opportunity to keep and an opportunity to also showcase talent, he added.
The tournament has grown immensely debuting in 2014 where the winner won a goat from the amount that was raised from the teams who were participating in the tournament.
Adam says the tournament got its first sponsorship from Member of County Assembly Aspirant who despite donating a goat gave out a cash award for the winners the following editions.
Last year they got a shot in the arm when Nairobi Governor His Excellency Mike Sonko awarded winners with Ksh 30,000.
The organizers of the event are calling on well-wishers to sponsor the event as this year no one has come to their aid.
